The pub you plan your week around
Brunch from 9am, a huge garden, Sunday carvery, a fortnightly quiz, and a Pizza Shack in summer. In the heart of Horsell.
The Cricketers has been part of the Barons group since 2006 and part of Horsell for a lot longer than that — the oldest part of the building dates to the 16th century. It’s the kind of pub that earns its place in people’s routines: brunch on a weekday morning, carvery on Sunday, quiz on a Tuesday evening.
The garden is the headline. A huge rear space with a Garden Room and adjoining tent, six pods, a play area, bench tables, and an outdoor bar. In summer, the Pizza Shack fires up. In the garden the pods are bookable, and you can reserve a pod or any inside table for drinks, not just food.
Inside, there’s the bar area (dogs welcome), a snug, a cave (cosy, seats six — good for small meetings), and the main restaurant. The Garden Room and large umbrella area are available for private hire.

A bit of history
The oldest part of the building dates from the 16th century and is timber-framed. Over the years it’s been a general store, a poorhouse, a school, and the village lock-up before becoming a pub.
Part of the community
We host a stall at the Horsell Christmas Village Fair, run a Pimm’s stand at Picnic on the Green, and our charity quiz supports the Bee-lieve Foundation.
