How to find us on Horsell Common
Heather Farm Café is on Chobham Road, on the edge of Horsell Common, looking out across the Heather Farm wetlands. Woking station is around 12 minutes away by car, and there’s a large free car park at the café.
We’re open 9am to 5pm every day. Here’s the address, where to park, which buses stop nearby, and what to expect when you arrive.
Address and sat-nav
Heather Farm Café, Chobham Road, Horsell Common, Woking, Surrey GU21 4XY.
Horsell Common covers a lot of ground, and some sat-navs aim for the wider common rather than the café, so it’s worth checking the destination pin before you set off. GU21 4XY together with “Heather Farm Café” will get you to the right spot.
Parking
The car park is large and free, and it’s run by The Horsell Common Preservation Society. Three disabled parking spaces sit very close to the café, with several more spaces in the main car park.
It’s the car park for the common as well as for the café, so you can park once, walk a lap and come back for brunch. Coco, our Grab and Go coffee trailer, is just down the pathway from the café and opens from 9am at weekends, on bank holidays and through the school holidays, if you’d rather take your coffee with you.
Buses and trains
The Mimbridge stop is around a 9 minute walk from the café and is served by the 73. Cheapside is about 11 minutes on foot, with the 73, 462 and 463 all stopping there.
Woking is the nearest station, roughly 12 minutes by car or 24 minutes by bus. Brookwood is about 15 minutes by car, or 40 minutes by bus.
Walking in from the common
Paths reach the café from right across Horsell Common, so you can walk in off the heath, dog in tow, and stop for a coffee. Horsell Common is the walk here, and there’s plenty of it in every direction.
The wetlands the café overlooks were a mushroom factory before The Horsell Common Preservation Society took the site on. The common also hosts the Martian Race each year, which brings plenty of people to the area.
When we're open
The café is open 9am to 5pm every day. Brunch is served from 9am until midday, lunch runs from midday, and the kitchen closes at 4.30pm. Afternoon tea starts at 2pm and is made for at least two people to share.
Tables are first come, first served, so you can walk straight in. Order at the counter or scan the QR code on your table, whichever suits you.
Alongside coffee and tea, there are milkshakes, smoothies, wine, beer and ready-to-drink cocktails.
Access and family facilities
There’s step-free access into the main café and the extension, wheelchair-width doorways, and an accessible toilet with baby changing inside it. Table service is available if you’d rather stay seated, or you can order at the counter.
Highchairs are available, children are welcome all day every day, and there are children’s menus for both breakfast and lunch. Colouring sheets and wikki stix keep small hands going, and the grass area has a wooden crocodile climbing toy on it.
Dogs are welcome everywhere, inside and out. Free Wi-Fi covers the café, with no sign-up needed.
