A private room overlooking the wetlands

The Lake View is our private hire room at Heather Farm Café, with windows over the Heather Farm wetlands and Horsell Common beyond. It seats 30 for a sit-down meal or holds 50 standing, and it's heated, so it works whatever the month.

We take function bookings Monday to Friday, with two buffet menus built for groups: a Breakfast Buffet and an Afternoon Tea Buffet. Tell us your date and rough numbers and we'll take it from there.

The Lake View

The room seats 30 around tables or holds 50 standing, and it's yours for the length of your hire. The view over the wetlands does a lot of the work: a calm, open outlook that changes with the season.

It's heated, so a February meeting is as comfortable as a June one, and free Wi-Fi covers the café with no sign-up needed. There's step-free access into the café and the extension, and an accessible toilet with baby changing inside it.

Decorations are welcome, with confetti the one exception, as it takes some getting out of the floor.

The Breakfast Buffet

Our Breakfast Buffet runs Monday to Friday at £18.95 per person, for a minimum of 30 guests. It's bacon brioche breakfast baps, hash browns, Danish pastries, and tea and coffee to keep everyone going.

It suits an early start: a team meeting before the working day, a club committee, a supplier morning, or a family gathering that wants to begin with something warm.

The Afternoon Tea Buffet

Our Afternoon Tea Buffet is £19.95 per person, again Monday to Friday and for a minimum of 30 guests. Freshly made sandwiches and wraps, sausage rolls, sultana scones and more, laid out for your group to help themselves.

Heather Farm is the only one of our sites serving afternoon tea, and this is the group-sized version of it. Our sit-down Afternoon Tea, served from 2pm every day for at least two people to share, has vegetarian and vegan options too.

What the room works for

The Lake View takes all sorts: milestone birthdays, christenings and naming days, baby showers, retirement mornings, club and community meetings, and team days.

For a celebration of life, the room gives your guests a separate space and an open outlook over the wetlands, and our team will read the day and adjust the service to suit. Tell us how you'd like it to run and we'll follow your lead.

Children are welcome all day, every day, with highchairs and children's menus available.

Hire costs and how it works

The Lake View is £150 for up to three hours, and extra hours are charged at £100 per hour. Buffet packages are priced per person on top, at the rates above.

Bookings run Monday to Friday, within our opening hours of 9am to 5pm. Both buffets are for a minimum of 30 guests, and smaller groups are very welcome to walk straight in and order at the counter.

If plans change, we aim to put the deposit from a cancelled function towards a future booking.

Getting your guests here

Parking is free in the large car park run by The Horsell Common Preservation Society, with three disabled spaces very close to the café, which makes drop-off straightforward for older guests.

Woking station is around 12 minutes away by car and 24 minutes by bus. The Mimbridge stop is a 9 minute walk and is served by the 73; Cheapside is about 11 minutes on foot, with the 73, 462 and 463 stopping there.

Dogs are welcome everywhere at Heather Farm, so nobody needs to leave one at home, and there's outdoor seating for around 120 people if your guests want some air before or after.
