Sunday Carvery at The Horseshoe
Sunday at The Horseshoe is all about the carvery! From noon until 5pm every Sunday, we serve a selection of delicious roasted meats carved to order, plus homemade Yorkshire puddings, golden roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and a fantastic choice of trimmings for you to help yourself to.
Warlingham sits at the edge of Surrey and south London, and on Sundays we draw regulars from Caterham, Whyteleafe, Sanderstead, and beyond. Some come straight from a walk through Farleigh Common. Others make it a weekly family tradition. Either way, the carvery is the centrepiece of our week.
How our carvery works
Then help yourself to crispy roast potatoes, homemade Yorkshire puddings, creamy mash, seasonal greens, root vegetables, sage & onion stuffing, cauliflower cheese, and our house gravy.
Vegetarian and vegan roast options are always available, as well as NGCI (non gluten-containing ingredient) choices. Let your server know about any dietary requirements when you sit down.
The pub on a Sunday
The Horseshoe is a big, welcoming pub — originally a roadhouse — and Sundays are when it’s at its best. The function space fills with families, the bar buzzes with walkers and locals, and the covered garden seating with heated pods means you can sit outside even when the weather isn’t cooperating.
Dogs are welcome in the bar and garden, and we keep water bowls topped up. There’s free on-site parking with no time limits — the car park is small and reached via a narrow lane, so it’s worth arriving early on a busy Sunday.
After your carvery, settle in at the bar or take a stroll through Farleigh Common or Blanchman’s Farm Nature Reserve, both just minutes from our door.
Families and celebrations
Sundays at The Horseshoe are made for families. Our children’s menu includes a smaller carvery plate, and there’s plenty of room to spread out with pushchairs and highchairs.
If you’re getting the extended family together for a birthday, anniversary, or just a long-overdue catch-up, the carvery takes the pressure off. No one has to cook, no one has to wash up, and everyone gets to choose what goes on their plate. For larger parties, we can arrange group seating — just call ahead and let us know numbers.
Our function space can also be reserved for private Sunday events if you’d like a space to yourselves.
Walk and eat: the commons and downs nearby
Farleigh Common and Blanchman’s Farm Nature Reserve are both right on our doorstep, ideal for short local strolls. Oxted Downs, Marden Park (part of the Woodland Trust), and Farthing Downs are all just a short drive away, for those settling in for a roast after a longer walk.
Come straight to us afterwards, muddy boots are welcome. The heated pods in the garden are ideal for warming up with a drink before you head inside to eat.
When we serve and how to book
Our carvery runs every Sunday from noon to 5pm. Last orders are at 4.45pm. We recommend arriving early if you want the widest choice of meats.
