Our courtyard garden, pods and pergola
Behind the pub, our courtyard garden sits enclosed between the pub and the twelve boutique bedrooms. Grapevine climbs overhead, hanging baskets and foliage fill the walls, and bench tables with colourful umbrellas give you somewhere to settle in with a drink. The courtyard is fully enclosed and runs between the pub building and the bedrooms, which keeps it sheltered and quiet.
Four heated pods and a covered, heated pergola sit alongside them, so the courtyard works across the seasons.
Bench tables sit under the grapevine with colourful umbrellas above them, and the walls are thick with hanging baskets and greenery. It’s a lovely spot for a long lunch, a drink after work, or a coffee while the dog stretches out under the table.
At the front of the pub there’s a smaller seating area with a few tables, handy for a drink or a coffee.
Four heated pods
Our four garden pods are covered and heated, with lighting and plug sockets inside, so they work through the colder months as well as the summer. Each one gives your group its own corner of the courtyard.
They suit birthdays, catch-ups with friends, and family lunches. Ask the team about the pods when you book.
The covered pergola
Running along the pub building is our pergola: covered and heated, with open sides and half walls, so you get the fresh air without the weather. There’s a TV out there too.
Most of the bench tables in the garden have umbrellas, and there’s free Wi-Fi.
Eating and drinking outside
You can eat from our menus out here. Brunch is served from 7am, and Sunday Roasts are served from midday to 5pm with last orders at 4.45pm.
At the bar you’ll find rotating cask ales, Silent Pool Gin, and low and no alcohol wines, beers and Virtuous cocktails. Two House Cocktails are £14.95 between 5pm and 7pm, Monday to Friday.
Order at your table using the QR codes or come up to the bar. A discretionary 10% service charge applies to main meals with table service.
Dogs in the garden
Dogs are welcome in our courtyard garden, including inside the pods, and in the bar. Water bowls and treats are free of charge, and you can buy a Canine Menu dog chew from the bar.
Two of our twelve bedrooms are dog-friendly, so if you’re travelling with your dog you can stop over without leaving them behind.
Mention you’re bringing your furry friend when booking so we can seat you in a suitable area.
Families, access and parking
Children are welcome all day, every day. There’s a children’s menu for under-12s covering breakfast and lunch, highchairs, colouring sheets and wikki stix, and baby changing in the accessible bathroom.
Step-free access into the pub is by ramp, and there’s an accessible toilet. Parking is on site.
