Sunday Roasts with all the trimmings

We serve Sunday Roasts every Sunday, from midday to 5pm, with last orders at 4.45pm. Roast meats, golden roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, a Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese and homemade gravy, with all the usual trimmings alongside.

Our meat comes from Walton Meats, our local butcher, and it shows. Whether you’re bringing the whole family in, meeting friends, or staying with us in one of the twelve bedrooms, Sunday is our favourite day of the week.

When we serve on a Sunday

Roasts run every Sunday from midday to 5pm, with last orders at 4.45pm, and the full menu is served alongside them. The bar is open from 8am until 10pm.

For larger groups, our Party Menu is available at Sunday lunchtime from noon to 5pm, alongside the plated roasts and the full menu. Tell us your numbers when you book and we’ll talk you through it.

What's on the plate

What's on the plate

Roasts are served plated, with a Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, cauliflower cheese and homemade gravy alongside your choice of meat. Ask the team when you sit down and they’ll talk you through the choices.

Our meat-free roast is the Chestnut Roast, which is nut-free, and it comes with the same trimmings. Veggie, vegan and NGCI options run through the rest of the menu too.

Full allergen information is available on request. Our food is prepared in kitchens where all allergens may be present. Due to fryers & cookers being used for more than one product, there is a small possible contamination risk even if the ingredient is not present in the dish. If you have a food allergy please let us know before ordering. Where we offer items that are NGCI (Non Gluten Containing Ingredients) we cannot guarantee that they are entirely gluten-free.

Sunday with the family

Children are welcome all day, every day. There’s a children’s menu for under-12s, highchairs, and colouring sheets and wikki stix to keep smaller guests occupied between courses. Baby changing is in the accessible bathroom, and step-free access into the pub is by ramp.

If you’re getting the wider family together for a birthday or a christening, let us know the numbers when you book and we’ll seat you together. Groups of 11 or more, please give us a call.

What to drink with it

Cask ales rotate at the bar, and we pour Silent Pool Gin, our local gin. There are low and no alcohol wines, beers and Virtuous cocktails as well.

A discretionary 10% service charge applies to main meals with table service.

Roast lunch in the courtyard

Sunday lunch outside is easy here. Our enclosed courtyard garden behind the pub has four heated, covered pods with lighting and sockets, a heated pergola with a TV, and bench tables under the grapevine and hanging baskets, so it works across the seasons.

Dogs are welcome in the courtyard garden, including inside the pods, and in the bar, with free water bowls and treats, plus Canine Menu dog chews to buy from the bar. Mention you’re bringing your furry friend when booking so we can seat you in a suitable area.

Staying overnight

Twelve boutique bedrooms sit behind the pub, and two of them are dog-friendly. Rates start at £110 including a freshly cooked breakfast, served from 7am on weekdays and 8am at weekends.

If you’re travelling through, or in the area for Ascot Races or the golf, a bedroom means you can take your time over Sunday lunch and head off in the morning.
