Our pub garden is home to the Pizza Shack; stone-baked pizzas, served straight from the oven and eaten in the sunshine. Grab a seat at a garden table, settle into one of the huts, or claim a spot under the tent.
For bigger occasions – birthdays, work events, family celebrations – our Pizza Feast menus cater for groups of 10 during Pizza Shack opening hours, or 25 or more at any other time. It’s casual, it’s fun, and it takes the stress out of feeding a crowd.
The Pizza Shack
The Pizza Shack fires up in our garden during the summer months. The set-up is straightforward: a great à la carte menu of stone-baked pizzas, made to order. No booking needed — just turn up, order, and find a spot.
The pizzas come with generous toppings and rich tomato sauce. You can stay as long as you like.
Pizza Shack hours are weather-dependent. Standard summer timings are Friday evenings and all day Saturday and Sunday, with specific times and any extra dates (bank holidays, school holidays) on our opening hours. The Shack typically runs from late spring through to early autumn, weather permitting.
Pizza Feast menus for events
Our Pizza Feast menus are for groups of 10 during Pizza Shack opening hours, or 25 or more at any other time. Whether it’s a milestone birthday, a team celebration, a christening, or a family reunion, we’ll serve a steady stream of freshly baked pizzas throughout your event.
No courses, no waiting, no choosing from a menu on the day – just great pizza arriving to your group while you focus on the people around you. We can tailor the selection to your group, with veggie and vegan options on request. Sides, salads, desserts & welcome drinks can all be added to build a package that’s perfectly-suited to your event.
Pizza Feasts are especially popular under our spacious tent area; offering a dedicated area for your event, come rain or shine.
The garden — tent, huts, outdoor bar, and play area
The Jovial Sailor’s garden is the backdrop for all of this, and it’s a great one. The tent area provides covered space for larger groups. The garden huts offer sheltered, semi-private seating — perfect for a party within the party. And the outdoor bar keeps everyone topped up without the walk inside.
For families, the play area is right in the garden, so children can burn off energy between slices. Dogs are welcome too — in the garden, bar, huts, Lounge, and Home Room. It’s relaxed, it’s sociable, and it’s what summer weekends were made for.
What makes it work for events
Pizza Feasts suit occasions that don’t need formality. The casual format means people can mingle, move between tables, and eat at their own pace. It works for mixed groups — adults and children, colleagues and partners, friends who haven’t seen each other in months.
The garden huts can be reserved for your group if you want a defined space. The tent area handles bigger numbers. And if you’d rather be inside, we can arrange Pizza Feast service in the pub too.
