Birthdays, corporate days and celebrations of life
Meade Hall is our self-contained venue at The Crown & Cushion in Minley, hired out for everything from a 21st birthday to a company away day. It has its own bar, a private entrance, washrooms, a large open fire, a DJ balcony, a PA system, a TV and free Wi-Fi.
It seats up to 85 guests banquet style, or holds up to 140 standing, and the layout changes to suit the occasion. Tell us what you’re planning and our events team will prepare a free, no obligation quotation.
The space and how it works
The hall is one large room with fixed booth and bench seating around the edges and plenty of open floor, with customisable table options in the centre of the room. Seat 85 for a meal, hold 140 for a standing party, or set out 50 to 75 seats and keep room for a presentation or a dance floor.
Outside, the heated Meade Pavilion has high tables and stools, seating 15 or holding 30 standing, which works well for a drinks party. Our firepit can be hired to keep the party going outside, even on cooler nights.
The hall is heated and air-conditioned, cosy through the winter months and refreshingly cool as it warms up outside. Through the Christmas season, part of the hall can be hired rather than the whole room.
Birthdays, anniversaries and family get-togethers
Meade Hall hosts milestone birthdays from a 21st upwards, along with anniversaries, engagements and family get-togethers. The DJ balcony keeps the music above the floor, the open fire earns its keep in winter, and the bar is in the room.
Children are welcome, with highchairs, a children’s menu for under 12s, colouring sheets and wikki stix, and baby changing in Meade Hall’s washrooms. Dogs are welcome everywhere in Meade Hall, so the family dog can come to the party as well.
Corporate events and meetings
With 50 to 75 seats and space left over for a presentation, the hall takes team days, training sessions, awards evenings and office Christmas parties. There’s a TV, a PA system, sockets around the room, free Wi-Fi and free parking on site.
Minley sits between Yateley, Farnborough, Fleet and Camberley, which keeps the journey simple for teams coming from Surrey and the surrounding areas. Half day hire is available for evening events from 7pm.
For a bigger crowd, the Meade Hall Pizza Feast Menu is served for 60 guests or more, and the BBQ and Hog Roast menus suit a summer team day.
Celebrations of life
Meade Hall gives a family a private space with its own entrance, bar and washrooms. Your event manager takes on the arrangements, so you can be with your guests.
Room hire for a celebration of life is £100 from Monday to Thursday. The Celebrations of Life Pack includes the Afternoon Buffet Menu for 20 guests or more, with sandwiches and wraps, home baked sausage rolls, roasted chicken drumsticks and rich chocolate brownies, plus arrival drinks and a tea and coffee station.
We work alongside R H Faulkner & Daughter Independent Funeral Services in Farnborough, and our resident florist Sharon North can take care of the flowers. For guests travelling in, The Inn at West End is a 10 minute drive away.
Menus and drinks for your event
Event food is cooked by the kitchen at The Crown & Cushion. Choose from the Meade Hall Celebration Buffet, the Traditional Fork Buffet, the Southern-Style Buffet, the Canapé Menu, the BBQ Menu, the Hog Roast Menu or the Meade Hall Pizza Feast Menu, and the events team will talk you through the numbers.
Drinks Packages come in three tiers, built around arrival drinks and wine with food, with a glass of toasting prosecco on the Silver and Gold tiers, and the Low & No Drinks Package sits alongside them. A discretionary 10% service charge is added to your quote, and our food and drink page has the full picture, including allergen information.
Nights that are already in the diary
Meade Hall opens to everyone as well as to private parties. Free live music runs on the first Thursday of every month, with acts such as The Congakeyz and Ella Bish, plus paid band nights through the year, including Surrey Soul Sensation and tribute acts, and themed evenings like Drag Queen Music Bingo.
Our monthly charity quiz supports Sasha’s Project, a local charity. Free tickets go through Ticket Tailor and paid tickets through We Got Tickets.
On Sundays from September to June, the hall also hosts the Meade Hall Carvery, with tables bookable between 12:30pm and 1:30pm.
