Your wedding day in a medieval barn
Meade Hall is our medieval banqueting hall at The Crown & Cushion in Minley, and is our dedicated venue for weddings and private events. High ceilings, 16th century timbers, a large open fire and a bar of its own: the room brings plenty of personality and charm to the day before your decorations and final touches are even added.
It seats up to 100 guests banquet style, or holds up to 150 standing, and can be yours for the whole day or just half the day, with flexible hire options available. Tell our events team the sort of wedding you’re planning and they’ll take it from there.
The hall and what comes with it
Meade Hall is self-contained, so everything happens in one room. It has its own bar, a large open fire, a resident DJ with a DJ balcony, fixed booth and bench seating, and washrooms with baby changing facilities.
The hall is heated and air-conditioned, cosy through the winter months and refreshingly cool as it warms up outside. Your booking also includes the covered, heated patio, with an area kept for your event.
Furniture, crockery, glassware, the PA system, the TV and free Wi-Fi are part of the hire, along with a dedicated event manager. Seating can be laid out differently for a wedding, and the capacity stays at 100 seated or 150 standing.
Your wedding breakfast
Everything is cooked by the kitchen at The Crown & Cushion, on the same site. The Wedding Menu runs to three courses: serve the same dishes to everyone, or pick two starters, two mains and two desserts for guests to choose from, with the pre-order sent to us six weeks before the day.
The Canapé Menu is a choice of four for parties of 50 or more. For the evening there’s the Hog Roast Menu, served from 4pm, a BBQ Menu, and the Wedding Evening Pizza Menu of hand-stretched, stone-baked pizzas for 60 guests or more alongside a daytime wedding breakfast.
Celebration cakes can be brought in from an outside supplier. Every event menu sits on our food and drink page.
Drinks at your own bar
The bar in Meade Hall is yours for the day, staffed by our team. Drinks Packages come in three tiers, built around an arrival drink and wine with the meal, with a glass of toasting prosecco for the speeches on the Silver and Gold tiers, and the fizz can be upgraded to champagne.
The Low & No Drinks Package has no minimum guest numbers, so book it for the whole party, or for a set number of guests alongside one of the Drinks Packages. Silent Pool Gin, jugs of Pimm’s and Aperol Spritz, and a tea and coffee station are on the drinks menu too.
A discretionary 10% service charge is added to your quote.
Music, the pavilion and the outdoor space
The DJ balcony for our resident DJ sits above the hall, so the music has its own home rather than taking up your floor space. Book an entertainer from our supplier guide, or bring your own DJ or band; we’ll just need their Public Liability Insurance and PAT certificates.
Outside, the heated Meade Pavilion seats 15 at high tables and stools or holds 30 standing, which suits a drinks reception. A firepit is available for event hire.
The patio and garden look out over Crown Taveners Cricket Club, a good backdrop for group photographs alongside our thoughtfully decorated garden space.
Getting here, parking and beds for the night
Meade Hall sits in the hamlet of Minley, between Yateley, Farnborough, Fleet and Camberley, with free parking on site. For a larger wedding we suggest guests car-share where they can.
There’s step-free access with a ramp, wheelchair-width doorways, and an accessible toilet in the main pub. Children are welcome, with highchairs, a children’s menu for under 12s and baby changing in Meade Hall’s washrooms. Dogs are welcome everywhere in Meade Hall, so if yours has a part in the day, bring them along.
Our sister-site, The Inn at West End, is a 10 minute drive away just off Junction 3 of the M3, with twelve bedrooms sleeping up to 24 guests and breakfast included. Guests get £15 off each bedroom when they book in connection with your event and quote the date, through manager.theinn@baronspubs.com
Book a viewing
The best way to picture the day is to stand in the room. Natalie Thewlis, our events manager, arranges private viewings and will talk you through dates, hire terms and how the day might run.
Email meade.hall@baronspubs.com or call us on 01252 545253, and we’ll confirm what’s open for your date and prepare a free, no obligation quotation.
