A Shinfield local since 1951
The Shinfield Arms has been part of village life since 1951, when it was known as a Simonds Public House.
We joined the Barons group in 2017 and have invested in the pub and its garden, creating an all-weather outdoor space with a year-round stretch tent, a private outdoor bar, four heated cowsheds, and three heated garden pods that make it one of the most distinctive beer gardens in Berkshire.
The pub
A warm, welcoming bar and restaurant that draws regulars from Shinfield and the surrounding area. Dogs are welcome in the garden and bar.
The garden
Our all-weather garden is something special. The stretch tent, a private outdoor bar, four heated cowsheds, and three heated garden pods give you plenty of covered options whatever the weather. It’s a garden that works year-round, not just in July.
Events and community
We host a fortnightly quiz (every other Tuesday from 8pm) and seasonal events throughout the year. Wellington Country Park and Dinton Pastures are both nearby for walks.
