Whether you’re bringing together work colleagues, family or friends, we’ll make it a get-together to remember with our delicious food & drink.

Enjoy timeless favourites including a Classic Prawn Cocktail, Festive Roast Turkey, and Traditional Christmas Pudding, as well as seasonal delights; a warming Roast Carrot & Coriander Soup, Brie & Cranberry Burger, Salted Caramel & Chocolate Pots to name but a few.
Priced at £27.95 for two courses and £34.95 for three courses, with crackers and all the Christmas trimmings! We have something for everyone, with veggie, vegan & NGCI (non-gluten containing ingredients) options available!

Christmas Day
We’re proud to serve great food & drink every day at The Star. On December 25th, we’re committed to making it that extra bit more magical for you, with festive dining for all the family.
- Pre-booking for Christmas Day is essential, served from 12pm to 1.30pm.
- For drinks, walk-ins are welcome until 3pm on the big day, so be sure to join us for a mulled wine or two on the merriest day of the year!
From our traditional Festive Roast Turkey & vegan-friendly Root Vegetable Wellington, to seasonal favourites like our Homemade Venison Casserole and Broccoli & Stilton Gnocchi Bake, there’s something for everyone!
Adults £99 per person, with the option to add a cheese course of English Mature Cheddar, Blue Stilton and Brie at £10 per person for an extra bit of indulgence.
Children under 12 £47.50 per person, for 3 courses plus a festive activity pack to keep little ones entertained!
Call us on 01372 842 416 to book. A £40 deposit per person is required, with everyone’s food choices by Monday 14 December 2026. A discretionary 10% service charge applies and goes directly to the team working that day.

Festive Buffet Menu - Christmas parties & buffets for the whole crowd
Booking the work Christmas party should be easy & fun. Our team is on hand to make it exactly that! Pick a date, gather your rough numbers, we’ll be there to help with the rest!
Our Festive Buffet is £20.95 per person for groups of 20 or more – perfect for bringing in the Christmas cheer, without the formality of a sit-down meal.
No food pre-orders are required for our Festive Buffet menu, making it a fantastic choice when catering to a range of dietary requirements & food references. Nobody has to choose their dinner a month in advance – everyone simply helps themselves on the night.
The buffet brings out Roast Turkey, Stuffing & Cranberry Sliders and Beef Brisket Buns, honey-glazed Pigs-in-Blankets, Baked Sausage Rolls and Crispy Roast Potatoes with cranberry sauce and turkey gravy, with a Feta, Courgette & Red Pepper Frittata, Falafel in Beetroot Wrap, Vegan Sausage Rolls, Vegetable Crudités and Hummus and a Brussels Sprout Salad with chestnuts. To finish, Christmas Pudding with pouring cream, warm Chocolate Brownies with hot chocolate sauce, a vegan Carrot, Walnut & Pistachio Cake & Mini Mince Pies.
Whether it’s a big gathering bringing all the family together, or you’re organising your work do – we have a range of great spaces to host your group at the pub. The Restaurant seats 100, The Parlour seats 35 or holds 50 standing, and the Stretch Tent seats 40. For the biggest occasions the whole pub can be hired for 200 people or more. Tell us how many are coming and we will find the right space for you.

Christmas Eve, Thursday 24 December: 11am to 11pm
Christmas Day, Friday 25 December: Christmas dinner is served from 12pm to 1.30pm for pre-booked tables, with drinks until 3pm.
Boxing Day, Saturday 26 December: 12pm to 6pm, last food orders 4pm
New Year’s Eve, Thursday 31 December: 11am to 10pm with our full menu served all day, last food orders 8pm
New Year’s Day, Friday 1 January: 12pm to 6pm, last food orders 4pm
Hours for 27 to 30 December will be confirmed nearer the time.

Full allergen information is available on request. Our food is prepared in kitchens where all allergens may be present. Due to fryers & cookers being used for more than one product, there is a small possible contamination risk even if the ingredient is not present in the dish.
